Fujirebio said Health Canada cleared two blood-based neurological diagnostics for the Canadian market on its Lumipulse G immunoassay platform. The Lumipulse G NfL blood test measures the neuroaxonal injury biomarker neurofilament light chain, while the Lumipulse G pTau 217 plasma assay measures the Alzheimer-linked biomarker phosphorylated tau 217. Fujirebio said both assays separately received CE marking earlier this year, with NfL cleared in March and pTau 217 in May. The Canada approvals broaden access to automated, quantitative cerebrospinal-fluid surrogates and aim to support clinical differentiation of neurodegenerative etiologies. For the biomarker market, platform-based clearances are particularly relevant because they reduce integration friction for clinical labs adopting new testing workflows.
