Diasorin’s Liaison Plex Flex assay was cleared for clinical use as a multiplex gastrointestinal pathogen PCR panel covering 24 bacteria, viruses, and parasites. The assay’s modular Flex software is intended to let labs tailor panels based on seasonality, guideline updates, clinical presentation, patient travel, and immune status. In addition to common GI targets, the clearance highlights pathogens that are less frequently included in competing panels, including Microsporidia and Strongyloides stercoralis, which may support broader diagnostic coverage in complex or immunocompromised patients. The added menu also completes the core portfolio for the Liaison Plex system, aligning GI diagnostics with already-cleared respiratory and blood culture panel offerings.
