A systematic review and meta-analysis of brain tumor MRI AI studies reports pooled classification accuracy of 96.8%, with some model types approaching 98.5% accuracy. However, the review found that many studies do not share code and that uncertainty estimation is rare, limiting interpretability for clinical adoption. The analysis points to a mismatch between performance metrics and the evidence infrastructure needed for real-world trust: only about one-third of studies shared code, and fewer than 5% included uncertainty estimation. The authors frame explainability and transparency as the dominant barriers to clinical confidence. For biotech and healthcare AI developers, the takeaway is that model governance and evaluation reporting may become as decisive as accuracy for regulatory and clinical uptake.
