Multiple cancer diagnostics firms reported beat-and-raise results, strengthening confidence in demand for genomic testing and liquid biopsy tools. Guardant Health said oncology revenue drove second-quarter total revenue up 44% year over year to $335 million, helped by a 63% rise in oncology testing volume. The company also pointed to FDA approval in June for Guardant360 Liquid CDx as a companion diagnostic for Boehringer Ingelheim’s Hernexeos. Guardant’s commercialization tailwinds were reinforced by oncology coverage developments, including American Cancer Society guideline updates that added four colorectal cancer tests, with Shield among them. Veracyte similarly raised 2026 revenue guidance after Q2 results, noting growth in its Decipher and Afirma platforms and new product launches including Prosigna’s U.S. availability and Medicare coverage for its whole-genome sequencing-based TrueMRD Monitoring Test. Taken together, these updates reflect improving utilization of molecular classifiers and MRD tools, with regulators and payers extending coverage for assays tied to clinical decision-making. For the sector, the common driver remains oncology testing volume growth paired with expanding evidence for reimbursement pathways.
