Qiagen said its QiaStat-Dx BCID GN Plus AMR Panel for bloodstream infection testing received CE-IVD certification, enabling use in markets that recognize the designation. The panel is designed to detect 13 gram-negative bacterial pathogen targets and 18 antimicrobial resistance markers from positive blood cultures in about one hour. Qiagen positioned the panel as complementary to its earlier CE-IVD-certified QiaStat-Dx BCID GPF Plus AMR Panel for gram-positive bacteria and fungi, running on the same PCR-based QiaStat-Dx system. Combined, the two panels aim to give broad molecular coverage for pathogen identification and resistance profiling early in the care pathway. For clinicians and lab directors, the certification supports faster antimicrobial stewardship and potentially improved infection-control decisions by reducing time to actionable results.
