Maryland’s Department of Health awarded $520,000 to 18 fire departments to run multi-cancer early detection (MCED) screening using 20/20 BioLabs’ OneTest assay, funding more than 1,400 firefighters through the 2026 spring testing window. The program is supported by the state’s Professional and Volunteer Firefighter Innovative Cancer Screening Technologies Grant Program. 20/20 BioLabs said the effort will generate real-world evidence it intends to use for future U.S. coverage discussions with CMS. The company also highlighted that OneTest pairs protein tumor-marker measurements with machine learning-based artificial intelligence across more than a dozen cancer types.
