Oxford Nanopore said the Norwegian Centre for Clinical Cancer Research (MATRIX) rolled out rapid nanopore-sequencing based CNS tumor classification across Norway’s public healthcare infrastructure via InPreD. The company linked the national rollout to a clinical evaluation of 50 CNS tumor samples, reporting strong agreement between nanopore-based classification and established diagnostic methods. The program will initially expand at Oslo University Hospital, Haukeland University Hospital, and St. Olavs Hospital, with training, LIS integration, logistics, bioinformatics validation, and diagnostic pathway support built into the deployment plan. Oxford Nanopore said it will broaden its collaboration with MATRIX to include assay expansion into somatic and germline variant detection, copy number benchmarking, single-cell transcriptomics, and genome-wide methylation to integrate multiomics insights. Oslo University Hospital plans to submit required documentation under the EU In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) by year-end, alongside in-house declarations where needed for institution-used software.
