Geneoscopy’s stool-based RNA colorectal screening test, ColoSense, has received coverage under a National Coverage Determination from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The update also establishes a framework intended to support future high-sensitivity RNA-based colorectal cancer assays. Geneoscopy reported sensitivity results including 93% for colorectal cancer and 45% for advanced adenomas in average-risk patients, plus 100% sensitivity for stage I cancer. The test detects colorectal neoplasia-associated RNA markers and occult hemoglobin in stool. The company also pointed to an expansion path through Labcorp’s network, supporting broader adoption after FDA approval and guideline alignment for a three-year testing interval.
