Pillar Biosciences said it will contribute its oncoReveal Essential+ next-generation sequencing assay to a Japan liquid-biopsy screening partnership profiling cell-free DNA and cell-free RNA. The effort will run in about 2,000 Japanese patients with non-small cell lung cancer under LC-SCRUM-Asia, a network led by the National Cancer Center Hospital East. LSI Medience will perform testing after validating the assay for cfDNA and cfRNA. The move focuses on building scalable biomarker-driven oncology pathways where liquid biopsy data can support enrollment into clinical studies and faster selection of targeted therapies. Separately, Craif raised $33 million in a Series D to support a U.S. push for its urine-based pancreatic cancer test. The company aims to start a clinical trial in the U.S., expand lab sequencing capacity, and seek reimbursement through CMS’s MolDx program following results.
