Mission Therapeutics agreed to divest its kidney asset MTX652 (USP30 inhibitor) to Dimerix in a deal worth up to $292 million, according to the terms disclosed. The transaction includes a $5 million upfront payment and additional development-linked milestones that could total $47 million, with further payments tied to marketing approval and secondary indication events. MTX652 is designed as an oral, once-daily capsule intended to restore mitochondrial quality control in kidney cells by targeting USP30, an enzyme involved in mitochondrial clearance. Mission said it sharpened focus on its central nervous system USP30 inhibitor program, including its clinical-stage Parkinson’s candidate MTX325. Dimerix said the acquisition strengthens its renal pipeline and is complementary to its Phase III focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) program, with plans to expand coverage across the kidney disease continuum from acute injury to chronic conditions.
