Biocartis and Discovery Life Sciences announced a strategic collaboration to deliver precision oncology solutions using Biocartis’ Idylla PCR-based platform and Discovery’s clinical laboratory network and biorepository. The companies said the partnership is designed to speed biomarker results and improve patient enrollment for oncology trials. As an initial priority, Biocartis and Discovery will replicate a rapid KRAS testing program in Discovery’s Kassel, Germany facility at Discovery’s Newtown, Pennsylvania site. The firms plan to install Idylla at both sites to support harmonized results across the US and EU for companion diagnostic and clinical trial assay work. The update targets one of the recurring trial bottlenecks—turnaround time for biomarker testing and comparability across regions—especially for global oncology studies requiring rapid screening and consistent lab processes.
