Epitome Therapeutics, an EMBL spinoff focused on targeted epigenome editing, launched with €4 million in capital to build its Cadence platform and move programs toward candidate selection. The financing combines €2 million from an oversubscribed pre-seed round led by Xistra Science Ventures and Caesar Ventures with €2 million in non-dilutive grant support from AWS and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency. The company said Cadence is designed to tune gene activation through a library of engineered epigenetic effectors, aiming for precision control of gene dosage rather than binary on/off regulation. The launch matters as it adds another European platform company pursuing epigenetic modulation at a time when therapeutic differentiation increasingly hinges on how precisely edit systems can be directed and dosed.
