AnaCardio raised €62.5 million (about $70.5 million) in a Series B round to fully fund AC01’s advancement through Phase 2b development. The oral calcium-sensitizing contractile agent targets patients with chronic advanced heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and follows encouraging Phase Ib/IIa results reported in The Lancet. The company said it has received positive scientific advice from the FDA and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). AC01 was originally in-licensed from Helsinn and is designed to improve cardiac contractility via a differentiated mechanism intended to broaden options for a setting with limited outcomes. The financing was co-led by Novo Holdings and the Ljungström family office, signaling continued risk appetite for mid-stage cardiology therapeutics when early clinical signals support a path to late-stage readiness.
