Sensible Biotechnologies raised $47 million in a financing round to scale its integrated mRNA technology, including Series A funding and up to $20 million in non-dilutive support from the Government of Slovakia and the European Union. The company is pursuing naturally modified mRNA production using engineered eukaryotic cells, aiming to reduce immunogenicity and improve scalability for repeated dosing. Sensible’s platform—VECTOR—combines computational and AI-enabled sequence optimization with high-throughput screening and proprietary engineered cells to manufacture mRNA. A separate PromPT technology is designed to capture and protect mRNA inside cells before purification, targeting reduced contamination risks from double-stranded RNA. In investor participation, Sensible cited new backers including OTB Ventures and In-Q-Tel alongside existing investors, including individuals associated with BioNTech and Eli Lilly’s leadership.
