Complete Genomics agreed to be acquired by Swiss incubator Swiss Rockets, ending nearly 13 years of ownership tied to MGI Tech. The deal, announced with customary closing conditions and shareholder approvals, would make Swiss Rockets the sole owner while keeping Complete Genomics’ US operations, management, and customer contracts intact. Swiss Rockets previously secured exclusive rights to CoolMPS sequencing in the Americas and Europe; the acquisition expands licensing of StandardMPS technology in the US and Canada. Swiss Rockets said it will retain most of the company’s ~150 employees and maintain continuity across products and services while integrating R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions under its leadership.
