Illumina entered into a $1 billion credit facility with Bank of America and separately announced plans for a $300 million note offering, according to an SEC filing. The credit agreement replaces an earlier arrangement and includes sublimits for swingline borrowings and letters of credit, with the ability to increase commitments or add term loans up to an aggregate principal amount of $500 million. Illumina said proceeds are earmarked for working capital and general corporate purposes. Illumina also plans to issue $300 million of 4.950% notes due 2029, intending to use net proceeds plus cash on hand to repay existing notes due Sept. 9, 2026. The company expects the underwriting process to close Aug. 17, with no borrowings currently outstanding under the credit facility at the time of disclosure. The dual financing actions suggest Illumina is managing liquidity and capital structure amid ongoing product and sequencing market dynamics.
