GeneDx said it completed a reorganization during Q2 that included layoffs affecting approximately 75 employees. The Gaithersburg, Maryland-based genetic diagnostics company reported improved performance, with Q2 revenue rising 11% year over year, and reaffirmed its full-year 2026 revenue guidance. In its filing, GeneDx disclosed annualized cost reductions of about $25 million and said it has added more than 200 employees since the year began. The company tied restructuring efforts to improving unit economics, increasing utilization of exome and genome testing, and delivering product performance. GeneDx also described efforts to shift its testing mix toward exome rather than whole-genome testing due to continuing reimbursement hurdles, with blended average reimbursement per test of $3,258 in Q2 versus $3,700 in Q2 2025.
