Satellos Bioscience released interim results from its adult phase 2 Trailhead study of SAT-3247, an oral AAK1 inhibitor, in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The company provided a six-month data readout ahead of later pediatric-focused milestones. Across four adults aged 21–28 who had previously completed the phase 1a/b CL-101 study, Satellos reported improvements in muscle fat fraction and total effort, with strength remaining stable. The interim package also included reductions in creatine kinase and a safety/tolerability profile consistent with earlier findings. Satellos is positioning SAT-3247 to support muscle stem-cell function impairment in DMD rather than directly restoring dystrophin levels. The release adds momentum for upcoming pediatric data expected to be more influential for the program’s clinical trajectory.
