A phase II trial reported that preoperative chemo-immunotherapy with sintilimab achieved major pathological responses in 59.1% of patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer. Responders were able to receive reduced-dose postoperative radiation, with a 100% two-year survival rate reported in the study cohort and fewer side effects than traditional high-dose postoperative treatment paths.
