Ledger Run upgraded its ClinRun platform to streamline clinical trial payment workflows by automating processing of site invoiceables—costs not accounted for in study budgets. The company said its AI extracts and categorizes information from invoices, reducing manual invoice reading, quality checks and budget matching. Ledger Run estimated that a large share of payment-services resourcing can be consumed by handling unstructured PDF invoices and entering details manually. The updated capability is positioned as a step toward automating “manual” site invoices by parsing contract terms and matching them to approved budget categories. The platform uses a combination of natural language processing, rules-based reasoning and large language models, with Ledger Run stating it does not use customer data for model training without permission. The goal is faster, more predictable trial payments for CROs and sponsors.
