Recursion said it expects to start its first registrational trial in the second half of 2027 for its lead oral program REC-4881 in familial adenomatous polyposis, supported by updated positive Phase Ib/II TUPELO data. The company noted that talks with the FDA will influence the timing and design details. According to Recursion, patients treated with REC-4881 showed reductions across both larger, higher-risk polyp counts and lower GI polyp burden throughout the GI tract. The data were presented by Lisa Boardman, MD, at the CGA-IGC Annual Meeting in Denver. REC-4881 is an oral allosteric inhibitor of MEK1 and MEK2 licensed by Recursion from Takeda. With FAP having no approved pharmacologic therapies, the program’s next milestone will be alignment with FDA expectations for registrational endpoints and trial logistics.
