An international team led by RCSI and The Institute of Cancer Research, London, used an AI tool called iPhenMap to analyze about 2,000 microsatellite-stable colorectal tumors and generate biological vulnerability maps. The analysis highlighted previously unrecognized vulnerabilities and proposed drug combinations, including a lab-supported opportunity for trametinib-linked combinations in MSS colorectal cancer. The work frames MSS CRC as a population with actionable targets beyond standard approaches, using integrated multi-omic information and in vivo testing in laboratory models to narrow candidates. The next step is translating vulnerability signals into prospective patient selection criteria that can predict response outside preclinical systems.
