A randomized double-blind trial found that sodium zirconium cyclosilicate helped chronic kidney disease patients with heart failure reach target RAAS inhibitor doses by enabling treatment continuation without hyperkalaemia. Twice as many patients in the active arm achieved full dosing targets compared with control. The result is notable because maintaining guideline-directed RAAS blockade is often limited by serum potassium constraints—so a tolerability enabler can translate into real regimen adherence rather than dose reductions.
