Regeneron terminated its early Phase I/IIa TITAN trial evaluating REGN7041, a T cell-targeting monoclonal antibody for noninfectious uveitis. The study stopped after a safety event triggered an unfavorable risk-versus-benefit assessment, and Regeneron said an investigation is ongoing with no identified root cause yet. The trial enrolled a single adult patient before the early termination. For an ocular inflammatory program, even small-study safety concerns can rapidly alter development timelines and partner confidence, especially for CD3-targeting approaches where immunomodulation is tightly coupled to toxicity management. Regeneron indicated it will continue evaluating available data, but the termination adds to a broader pattern of antibody program attrition highlighted by multiple recent setbacks across oncology and other immunology programs.
