China’s NMPA cleared Akeso’s AK-157D1 to begin a phase I study in advanced solid tumors, allowing the program to enter first-patient dosing. In a separate retina-focused update, Shanghai Matwings received clinical trial clearance in China for Gensci-148 in neovascular age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion. Together, the clearances show continued regulatory throughput in oncology and ophthalmology, with trial initiation now set for defined patient populations in China.
