A new push within the cell and gene therapy (CGT) ecosystem is reframing scale-up as a collaboration and systems problem rather than only a manufacturing capacity issue. Act for Hope, a member-led initiative led by CEO Alexander Seyf, argued that “scientific possibility” is not enough to drive patient access. The initiative highlights the multi-stakeholder chain required for CGT—from patient identification and starting material collection to manufacturing, testing, release, logistics, treatment, and long-term follow-up. Seyf said fragmentation across organizations can create duplicated work, manual handoffs, and disconnected data structures. Industry participants are being urged to treat interoperability, shared standards, and responsible data exchange as infrastructure that must scale as therapies move toward broader commercialization.
