Cellares secured a long‑term lease in Leiden Bio Science Park to establish a Smart Factory and serve as its European integrated development and manufacturing organization (IDMO) headquarters. The 105,000 sq ft site will be fitted with Cellares’ automated Cell Shuttle and Cell Q systems to provide regional automated cell therapy manufacturing capacity. The facility targets European clinical and commercial supply needs, enabling consistent process transfer and regional production for cell‑therapy developers. Cellares said initial occupancy and phased fit‑out are planned for 2026, with operations to support process transfer, scale‑up and accelerate patient access in Europe. The expansion builds on Cellares’ US Smart Factory footprint and responds to sponsors’ demand for geographically diverse, automated manufacturing capacity for time‑sensitive, patient‑specific cell therapies.
