ARPA-H moved forward with BioStabilization Systems (BoSS) under its BioStabilization Systems program by funding Phase I work aimed at enabling room-temperature stabilization of cell-based biologics. ARPA-H committed up to $87 million across the four-year effort, targeting technologies that preserve cells and then reactivate them on demand. The initial award included a Reversible Ambient Temperature team with Draper as administrative lead and Likarda as technical lead, with participation from CaseBioscience, CPSI Biotech, Fresenius Kabi, MiNK Therapeutics, and the University of Colorado. The program’s formulation and bioprocessing focus reflects a key commercialization bottleneck for cell therapy supply chains.
