Teijin, Teijin Regenet, and Shinshu University Hospital began a joint research agreement aimed at improving manufacturing technologies for cell and gene therapy products. The collaboration is designed to strengthen Japan’s capacity for CAR T and other advanced therapy modalities, where expanding specialized manufacturing personnel and facilities remains a key constraint. The partners plan to use Shinshu University Hospital’s Cell Processing Center as a platform to explore future manufacturing automation and improve quality testing and quality-control methods.
