Cellares and GenomeFrontier Therapeutics partnered to evaluate automated manufacturing for GF-CART01 using Cellares’s Cell Shuttle platform. The collaboration focuses on translating GenomeFrontier’s virus-free CAR T manufacturing process to an automated electroporation-based workflow that can support both clinical development and future scale. GenomeFrontier said GF-CART01 is for B-cell malignancies, including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and follicular lymphoma, and reported promising clinical data in Taiwan. The company is now recruiting for a U.S. Phase I trial. The partnership signals continuing industry pressure to reduce variability and labor intensity in autologous CAR T manufacturing—key constraints tied to cost, manufacturing reliability, and patient access.
