Oricell Therapeutics advanced its glypican-3 (GPC3)-targeted autologous CAR T therapy, Ori-C101, into confirmatory registration phase II for patients with GPC3-positive advanced hepatocellular carcinoma. Oricell frames the program as the first GPC3-directed immune cell therapy and the first CAR T approach to reach that stage in liver cancer. The move follows increasing competition among solid-tumor cell therapy developers, where selection of antigen, manufacturing model, and trial design have become decisive differentiators. Pivotal-stage progression helps de-risk both regulatory pathway planning and downstream commercialization expectations. From an industry perspective, Ori-C101’s entry into confirmatory registration strengthens the emerging CAR T-to-solid-tumor playbook beyond earlier exploratory phases.
