Novo Nordisk’s Phase 3 Zeus trial for ziltivekimab, an IL-6 inhibitor aimed at reducing cardiovascular events via inflammation, failed to improve the primary endpoint versus placebo. In an update on the trial enrolling more than 6,300 patients, the company reported no major adverse cardiovascular event risk reduction, even as the drug suppressed the IL-6 pathway and reduced high-sensitivity C-reactive protein.
