A new smart-finger cuff algorithm reported high accuracy for detecting moderate-to-severe aortic stenosis in an at-risk subgroup of African American patients. The REACH trial results were presented at SCAI 2026 Scientific Sessions and the CAIC-ACCI Summit in Montreal. The update centers on a non-invasive detection approach using a device-based waveform analysis, designed to flag disease severity earlier and more reliably than less sensitive screening methods. Presenters framed the results as particularly relevant given observed under-detection patterns in healthcare delivery. If validated across broader sites and workflows, the algorithm could become a scalable intake tool for valve disease pathways where timely referral determines access to echocardiography and intervention.
