Merck reported Phase 3 results for sacituzumab tirumotecan (sacituzumab tirumotecan; sac-TMT), cutting the risk of death by one-third in advanced endometrial cancer in a randomized study presented at ESMO. The drug is already approved and used in multiple cancer contexts in China, and Merck is running extensive global Phase 3 studies to support non-China approvals. For endometrial cancer care, the data add to the evidence base for ADC-driven approaches aimed at improving survival in later lines. The company’s positioning also ties directly to pipeline strategy as Keytruda patent expiry approaches. The readout may accelerate expectations for ADC combinations and broaden the competitive landscape beyond PD-1-based regimens alone.
