Freenome closed a $310 million SPAC deal to go public, positioning the company to pursue FDA approval for its first colorectal cancer test and to roll out additional assays. The merger with Perceptive Capital Solutions (ticker FRNM) included about $240 million in PIPE commitments and roughly $70 million in SPAC trust proceeds. The company said its priorities now include seeking US Food and Drug Administration approval for SimpleScreen CRC and preparing a supplemental premarket approval filing for a second-generation version. Freenome’s CEO said the goal is to obtain approval for the colorectal cancer test “any time” and then submit the supplement soon after, with timing targeted for mid-2027. The platform uses sequencing to analyze methylation signatures from circulating cell-free DNA, and Freenome said it has improved its wet-lab workflow to boost sensitivity for precancerous lesions. With the company now public, investors will focus on regulatory milestones and test performance signals.
