Researchers at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, collaborating with Dexeus University Hospital, have for the first time captured three-dimensional, real-time images and videos of human embryo implantation into uterine-like collagen matrices. This milestone offers unprecedented insight into the biomechanical and molecular interactions during early implantation, a stage critical to successful pregnancy and often a barrier to fertility treatments. These findings hold promise for improving in vitro fertilization techniques and addressing implantation failures, a major cause of miscarriage.
