BrainChild Bio raised $116 million in Series A financing to accelerate development of CAR-T therapies aimed at childhood brain cancers, starting with an investigational program for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). The company’s lead candidate BCB-276 is designed to target B7-H3, with a pivotal Phase 2 registrational trial following standard-of-care focal radiation. BrainChild said the program received FDA Fast Track designation and that dosing in its ILLUMINATE study is planned in an approximately two-week schedule over up to 15 doses. The financing includes participation from Seattle Children’s and WRF Capital, alongside an undisclosed family fund and foundation. Pediatric CAR-T remains a high bar for manufacturing, logistics, and regulatory proof; the funding supports both clinical execution and the infrastructure needed to support a future biologics license application.
