Roche signed a deal with Dualitas Therapeutics to use the company’s Dualscreen Bispecific Discovery Engine to screen more than 300,000 bispecific antibody combinations. The agreement calls for identifying pairs with synergistic effects when tethered together for immunology and inflammation targets, with Dualitas receiving $36.5 million upfront and eligibility for development and commercial milestones plus tiered royalties. The collaboration is Dualitas’ first partner since launching a year earlier with a $65 million Series A round, positioning Roche’s immunology and inflammation portfolio for a high-throughput, combination-focused discovery strategy. The platform is described as designed to evaluate immunologic and inflammatory disease combinations as tethered bispecifics rather than simply combining two standalone antibodies. From a competitive standpoint, the deal reflects how large pharma is shifting resources toward internal and partner-based discovery engines that can generate and rank candidate combinations quickly, reducing time to narrowing compound sets for development. For the sector, it also highlights the market premium being placed on discovery platforms with explicit mechanisms to explore bispecific pairing space at scale rather than relying purely on known target biology and rational pairing.
