Single Cell Discoveries completed the acquisition of TATAA Biocenter to create a European CRO able to move molecular target work from discovery transcriptomics through GLP/GCLP-compliant validation. The combined organization will support discovery-grade sequencing and spatial transcriptomics as well as qPCR/dPCR assay development and bioanalytical services. The deal also aims to reduce “discovery-to-validation” fragmentation by letting sponsors use a single provider across data generation and regulatory-ready assay qualification. SCD said projects and quality systems for existing customers will continue unchanged, with TATAA continuing to operate from Gothenburg. The companies employ about 50 scientists across Utrecht and Gothenburg; financial terms were not disclosed.
