FairJourney Bio opened a cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structural biology facility in San Diego to embed atomic-resolution structure determination into its antibody discovery platform. The site includes a 300 kV cryo-EM setup with two ThermoFisher Titan Krios 5 systems and supports native-state antibody-target complex structures, with services launched in January 2026. The facility is intended to accelerate workflows from epitope mapping and hit generation through structure-guided lead optimization. For CRO customers and biotech sponsors, adding cryo-EM capacity within an antibody discovery “service plus platform” model can reduce cycle times when structural questions become a gating factor. The company also positions the expansion within a major U.S. biotech hub, complementing existing operations in San Francisco and across Europe.
