Bionyra emerged from stealth with $165 million in funding to advance three extended-half-life antibodies aimed at chronic inflammation. The startup was co-founded by Sofinnova Partners and Frédéric Marrache, formerly head of immunology R&D at Sanofi, and it plans early clinical progression for assets targeting TL1A and related immune pathways. The portfolio includes BYN-002, a monoclonal antibody against TL1A, BYN-003, a TL1A/IL-23 bispecific, and BYN-001, an anti–IL-25 antibody intended for atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory indications. Two candidates are already in Phase 1 studies, with a development plan designed around longer dosing intervals. For investors, the funding adds another TL1A/immune-inflammation player to the already crowded biologics landscape, while for the broader sector it reinforces that large-scale venture and growth funding continues for immune startups with differentiated half-life and combinable targeting strategies.
