Single Cell Discoveries completed the acquisition of TATAA Biocenter, combining discovery transcriptomics capabilities with qPCR/dPCR and GLP/GCLP-compliant bioanalytical and assay development services. The deal creates a European CRO pathway intended to take molecular targets from single-cell and spatial discovery through regulatory-ready validation without switching providers mid-program. SCD said the combined offering pairs single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics with validated confirmation steps—using qPCR or RNA-seq workflows—while keeping sample and data within the integrated group. TATAA’s capabilities include bioanalysis under GLP/GCLP standards and molecular assay development, including proteomics and sequencing. The companies employ about 50 scientists across Utrecht and Gothenburg, with TATAA continuing to operate from Gothenburg. The acquisition targets sponsors that increasingly consolidate outsourcing partners across the discovery-to-clinical development handover.
