Bio-Techne and Refeyn launched an integrated characterization workflow aimed at accelerating development of bispecific antibodies and biosimilars. The approach pairs Bio-Techne’s MauriceFlex imaged capillary isoelectric focusing (icIEF) system with Refeyn’s TwoMP mass photometry platform to link charge heterogeneity with molecular weight and aggregation. The companies said the workflow can deliver correlated readouts in about four hours using nanogram-level samples. They positioned the combined method as reducing late-stage manufacturing risk and the need for multiple standalone tests during process development. Refeyn Chief Executive Gerry Mackay highlighted the central challenge: bispecifics are structurally complex, and incomplete characterization can delay development and increase the likelihood of late failures.
