Sartorius unveiled the CellCelector CLD, an automated imaging and cell isolation platform intended to accelerate monoclonal cell line development. The system combines high-speed scanning, imaging-based clone tracking, and gentle clone retrieval, with the goal of moving from candidate screening to stable high-producer clones faster. The company says teams can complete steps in about seven weeks versus months using standard workflows, supported by its nanowell plate ecosystem that can expand candidate throughput. Sartorius also reports improved yields in clonality verification and clone outgrowth compared with conventional nanowell plates. A stated emphasis in the release is traceability and compliance, including an EMA 410-aligned productivity assay to document selection decisions. For biologics makers, faster and more auditable clone selection workflows can reduce time-to-process development and shorten the overall development timeline. The launch positions Sartorius to compete directly in the trend toward automated cell line development and integrated instrumentation-plus-consumables ecosystems.
