Efforts to optimize biomanufacturing have advanced with process intensification strategies integrating continuous production and advanced analytics. Lonza Biologics’ Courtney Hazelton-Harrington demonstrated the use of Raman spectroscopy as an inline process analytical technology (PAT) to monitor downstream ultrafiltration/diafiltration steps, enhancing speed and control. This approach reduces dependence on offline analysis and supports integration into continuous processing, promoting more efficient biologics production with improved scalability and quality control.
