The financing, led by Vida Ventures with participation from ARK Invest, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, and others, will fund clinical development and further pipeline expansion across organ systems. SonoThera’s platform combines an ultrasound delivery technology (RIPPLE) with a payload engineering system (PORE) intended to support DNA/RNA therapeutics, gene editing, and gene silencing, with a stated focus on repeatable dosing and improved safety versus conventional viral delivery. The company expects to initiate its first clinical trial in DMD in 2027, positioning the round as a key runway extension for platform validation in humans.
