NHGRI launched a five-year Population Genomic Screening Network (PGSN) study to evaluate how genomic screening can be implemented in primary care settings, with an initial $8 million committed for the first phase of activities. The consortium will deploy a shared protocol across six clinical groups, while Baylor College of Medicine sequences samples and the University of Washington coordinates analysis, enrolling at least 5,000 patients per site.
