SonoThera secured an oversubscribed $125 million Series B financing round to advance its ultrasound-mediated delivery platform toward clinical testing. The company plans to fund lead programs in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), including scalable development of DNA and RNA payload strategies intended for targeted, potentially redosable therapy. SonoThera’s platform combines an ultrasound-mediated delivery technology called RIPPLE with a payload engineering approach termed PORE. The company expects its first DMD clinical trial to begin in 2027, framing the raise as a bridge from multi-tissue preclinical delivery demonstrations to human proof-of-concept.
