The platform is designed to generate standardized data directly from biologically relevant cells rather than relying on prediction-based analyses. The company said BaseMap ABE can identify unintended editing events quickly and supports guide optimization and editor selection ahead of preclinical decisions. Off-target profiling is a core requirement for gene-editing programs because base editors can introduce unintended edits at and near target sites. Broken String positioned BaseMap ABE as its first phase into base-editing applications, with an early access collaboration program for researchers developing genome editing therapies.
