Circular Genomics is exploring how retinal imaging-based “oculomics” could improve Alzheimer’s risk stratification alongside its circRNA biomarker platform. The company said it is collaborating with Vitazi.AI to clinically validate an oculomics approach combined with Circular’s circular RNA signature. The effort is positioned against the backdrop that current FDA-cleared blood biomarker assays for Alzheimer’s can be highly sensitive but may lack specificity, increasing the need for expensive downstream confirmation testing. If validation holds, the combined strategy could support earlier intervention workflows by refining who truly has progressive disease biology.
